UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An Upper West Side coffee bar and lounge is hopping on the CDB (Cannabidiol) trend by rolling out a line of specialty cocktails featuring a CBD syrup that’s designed to mix evenly with beverages.
Da Capo on Columbus Avenue between West 75th and 76th streets has partnered with the company Azuca to feature its cannabis-infused sweeteners, the restaurant announced. Customers have to option to add Azuca’s infused simple syrup into any of the establishment’s beverages or to order a special CBD cocktail.
“Our mission is to make Da Capo a one-of-a-kind, premier dining concept by fostering a restaurant experience that balances chic sophistication with comfort and relaxation, day or night—all while holding ourselves to the highest standards in espresso and cocktails,” Craig Marx, a partner in Da Capo, said in a statement.
Marx added that a partnership with Azuca “felt like a natural complement to Da Capo’s overarching values and vision.”
Da Capo is the second New York City business to partner with the cannabis company. Azuca claims its CBD products such as sweeteners and syrups are superior than traditional oils because they blend more easily into drinks.
“Debuting on the menu at Da Capo marks the kickoff of our wholesale strategy as we work towards stocking Azuca at top bars, restaurants and coffee shops in New York City—and soon, nationwide,” Kim Rael, Azuca’s CEO, said in a statement.
Da Capo opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends. The business serves up coffee drinks until 5 p.m., when it transitions into a cocktail lounge.
